Foot of the Alps: Day17, 788km: Bassano, Italy.

In an effort to save travel time and escape July's increasing heat we took an overnight train from Barletta to Venice. This trip has brought us to the safer roads and bike trails of North Italy. The greener and more temperate climate makes for a more pleasant ride. Designated bike paths often parallel the smooth paved roads between the villages. Stone paving patterns layed by medieval masons line downtown village streets. We find ourselves in Architect Palladio's hometown of Bassano right now heading NNW at the foot of some mountains. I suppose that we'll be feeling inclined to look at the sky more.
